Melinda, I hope you see this. My mama was still with us, watching the game with us that evening. She died Christmas Eve. Every time I hear about the Cardinals World Series victory, I can't help but remember her excitement about the 2006 playoffs/World Series, about her favorite player (David Eckstein, who she always called David Einstein -- we loved to tease her about that!). Watching the Cardinals next year won't be the same without mama here.
